About CAMP BROADWAY®

CAMP BROADWAY® is a Special Drama Desk Award-winning company, honored for “introducing young people to the magic of theater and for playing a crucial role in creating tomorrow’s audiences.” Founded in 1995 and recognized as Broadway’s “original” summer camp, Camp Broadway’s mission is to make theater arts an accessible and relevant vehicle for creative children to build confidence, hone presentation skills, and discover their unique talents at every stage of their lives. Operated by the Broadway Education Alliance, Camp Broadway is a leader in audience engagement and a trusted source for year-round youth enrichment programs, experiential events, and educational workshops that have set the gold standard for professional, authorized musical theater and drama content for use in amateur arts programming.

Since its inception, nearly 50,000 children from across the globe have attended Camp Broadway’s summer musical theater camp in New York City or at partner theaters in cities such as Atlanta, Buffalo, Hartford, Jacksonville, Las Vegas, Miami, Pittsburgh, San Antonio, Tempe, and Westhampton Beach.

Led by an expert staff of Broadway performers, directors, choreographers, writers, composers, and designers, the programs include special performances by Camp Broadway Kids at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and other top entertainment venues. Honored for excellence by the Educational Theatre Association, recognized for its professionalism by the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce, and celebrated for its positive social impact on the community by the Best of New York, Camp Broadway is also a prolific producer of experiential learning programs. Over the last decade, the company has hosted over 450,000 students at pre-show educational workshops designed to enhance their attendance at hundreds of Broadway shows. The company was instrumental in developing the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (The Jimmy Awards) and continues to serve as the lead producer of The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance (previously the Gershwin Awards).

Committed to innovation in education, Camp Broadway’s creative team has also implemented custom student outreach programs for artist estates, Broadway productions, and civic organizations including “The Camp Broadway Challenge for Nothing But Nets” for the United Nations Foundation, “The Pride Rock Project” for Disney Theatrical Productions, “Stages for Learning” for Dodger Theatrical Productions, “On With the Show” for Bravo Television Network, “Adventure Ocean” for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, “Accentuate The Positive” for The Johnny Mercer Foundation, the “Getting To Know You” series for Rodgers & Hammerstein, and “Future Stages” for Fidelity.
